1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing this website, creating an account, or registering for any event under the Ice Breaker 2026–2027 festival, you (“User”, “you”, or “your”) unconditionally agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) and any additional guidelines or rules posted on the platform. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and The Literary Club of Anna University (“LitClub AU”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not access or use this platform or participate in any Ice Breaker events. Your continued use of the platform following any update to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised version.
These Terms are supplementary to and must be read alongside our Privacy Policy. In case of conflict between these Terms and the Privacy Policy on matters of personal data, the Privacy Policy shall prevail.
2. Eligibility
Access to certain features of this platform — including event registration, team formation, and stall management — is restricted to eligible users. To be eligible you must:
- Be a bona fide enrolled student of Anna University or any of its affiliated colleges for the academic year 2026–2027.
- Possess a valid Anna University Roll Number at the time of registration.
- Be at least 18 years of age, or have obtained verifiable parental or guardian consent before registering, in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
- Not be subject to any existing suspension, ban, or disciplinary action issued by LitClub AU or Anna University that prohibits platform access.
Stall operators, sponsors, and invited guests may be granted access under separate written agreements with LitClub AU. Such access is governed by those agreements in addition to these Terms.
LitClub AU reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time and to revoke access if a user is found to be ineligible, without liability or obligation to provide a refund of any kind. If LitClub AU discovers that a registered user is below the age of 18 and has not obtained valid parental consent, the account will be suspended immediately, the relevant personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy (Section 9), and the user will be notified via their registered email address.
3. Platform Access & User Accounts
Certain features of this platform require you to create a registered account. When you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to promptly update your profile if any information changes.
- Maintain the confidentiality of your password and accept full responsibility for all activities that occur under your account, whether or not authorised by you.
- Immediately notify LitClub AU of any suspected unauthorised use of your account by emailing litclubau@gmail.com.
- Not share, sell, transfer, or otherwise assign your account or login credentials to any third party.
- Not create more than one account per individual participant. Duplicate accounts may be merged or deleted without notice.
LitClub AU shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to safeguard your account credentials or from authorised or unauthorised use of your account.
4. Event Registration & Participation
By registering for any event under Ice Breaker 2026–2027, you acknowledge and agree to the following event-specific conditions:
4.1 Registration
- Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis subject to per-event participant limits as displayed on the event listing page.
- Submission of inaccurate or falsified registration data (e.g., fabricated Roll Numbers, impersonation) constitutes grounds for immediate disqualification and account suspension.
- Team-based events require all team members to independently hold valid registered accounts before a team entry is considered complete.
4.2 Conduct & Fair Play
- Participants must conduct themselves with integrity, sportsmanship, and respect for fellow participants, volunteers, and organisers at all times.
- Any form of plagiarism, collusion, cheating, or use of prohibited resources in competition events will result in immediate disqualification from that event and may result in a platform ban.
- Decisions of the event judges and LitClub AU organisers regarding results, disqualification, and eligibility are final and binding and not subject to appeal outside the formal grievance process.
4.3 Changes & Cancellations
- LitClub AU reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel any event at any time due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to university directives, weather, safety concerns, or technical difficulties.
- Registered participants will be notified of material changes to event schedule or venue via their registered email address.
- Ice Breaker is a free-of-charge event platform. No registration fees are collected; accordingly, no refunds are applicable.
4.4 Force Majeure
LitClub AU shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, pandemics, government orders or restrictions, university administrative directives, natural disasters, or widespread technical infrastructure failures (“Force Majeure Events”). In the event of a Force Majeure Event, LitClub AU will communicate changes to registered participants as soon as reasonably practicable via their registered email addresses.
5. Stalls & Sponsors
Stall operators and sponsors who access the platform under arrangement with LitClub AU agree to the following additional conditions:
- Stall listings, product descriptions, and associated media uploaded to the platform must be accurate and not misleading. LitClub AU reserves the right to remove or modify any listing that violates these Terms or applicable law.
- Operators are solely responsible for the accuracy of pricing, product availability, and any claims made about their stall's products or services. LitClub AU operates solely as a venue and listing facilitator and does not act as a seller, agent, or endorser for any stall's products or services.
- Sponsor branding and promotional content must comply with all applicable Indian advertising standards and must not promote any content that is prohibited by law.
- Any commercial transactions between event attendees and stall operators are strictly between those parties. LitClub AU is not a party to, and accepts no liability in connection with, such transactions. Stall operators are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable consumer protection laws, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on this platform — including but not limited to the website design, graphics, logos, event names, branding, text, and software — is the intellectual property of The Literary Club of Anna University and is protected under the Copyright Act, 1957 (India) and other applicable intellectual property laws.
- Platform Content: You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, or create derivative works from any platform content without prior written permission from LitClub AU.

- Competition Works: Original creative works submitted as competition entries remain the intellectual property of their respective authors. LitClub AU may showcase such works in event-related publications or social media, with appropriate attribution, unless you opt out in writing.
“LitClub AU”, “Ice Breaker”, and associated logos and event names are unregistered trademarks of The Literary Club of Anna University. Unauthorised use of these marks is strictly prohibited.
7. Prohibited Conduct

- Engaging in any form of automated scraping, crawling, data harvesting, or bot-driven interaction with the platform without prior written consent.

- Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the platform or its underlying infrastructure, including through denial-of-service attacks.
- Impersonating any person or entity, or misrepresenting your affiliation with LitClub AU, Anna University, or any event partner.
- Using the platform to solicit, advertise, or promote commercial services without the prior written approval of LitClub AU.
Violations of this section may result in immediate account termination, reporting to university authorities, and, where applicable, referral to law enforcement under the Information Technology Act, 2000.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
This platform and all associated services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permissible under applicable Indian law.
- LitClub AU does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, free of viruses or other harmful components, or that any defects will be corrected.

- Event schedules, venue information, and result announcements are provided in good faith but are subject to change at any time without prior notice.
As a student-run, non-commercial organisation, LitClub AU operates this platform to the best of its ability within resource constraints. Nothing in this section limits your statutory rights under Indian consumer protection law to the extent they are applicable and cannot be excluded by contract.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law, LitClub AU, its officers, volunteers, members, and affiliated faculty advisors shall not be liable for any:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of or inability to use the platform or participation in any event.
- Loss of data, loss of opportunity, personal injury, or property damage arising in connection with Ice Breaker events or use of this platform.
- Conduct of third parties, including stall operators, sponsors, or other event participants.
- Interruption, suspension, or termination of the platform or any event, regardless of cause.
Where liability cannot be fully excluded under Indian law, the aggregate liability of LitClub AU in connection with any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall not exceed ₹ 1,000 (Indian Rupees One Thousand) in aggregate, reflecting the non-commercial, free-of-charge nature of the platform and events. This cap does not apply to liability arising from gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or breach of data protection obligations under the DPDP Act 2023.
10. Indemnification
You agree to cooperate with and, to the extent permitted by applicable Indian law, indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LitClub AU, its officers, volunteers, members, and Anna University from claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses directly and solely caused by your wilful violation of these Terms or applicable law, including:
- Your wilful, unauthorised use of or access to the platform in breach of these Terms.
- Your deliberate violation of any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right, including any intellectual property, privacy, or data protection right.
- Any content or information you intentionally submit, post, or transmit through the platform in bad faith.
- Your wilful misconduct at or in connection with any Ice Breaker event, whether on-campus or via this platform.
This indemnity does not apply to users who are minors, nor does it create obligations beyond what is enforceable under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. Negligent or accidental conduct is excluded from this indemnity.
11. Modifications to These Terms
LitClub AU reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. When we make material changes:
- The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.
- Registered users will be notified via their registered email address at least 15 days before the changes take effect.
- Continued use of the platform after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of non-data-related changes. For any change that affects how your personal data is processed, fresh explicit consent will be sought before such changes take effect, in accordance with Section 6 of the DPDP Act 2023.
- If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must cease using the platform and may request account deletion by emailing our contact officer.
Non-material corrections (e.g., typographical errors, updated contact information) may be made without advance notice.
12. Termination & Suspension
LitClub AU may, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, suspend or permanently terminate your account and access to the platform if:
- You violate any provision of these Terms.
- You are found to be ineligible or have provided false information during registration.
- Your conduct — whether on the platform or at an event venue — is considered harmful, abusive, threatening, or otherwise contrary to community standards.
- Your account is subject to a university disciplinary sanction that warrants removal from the event platform.
Upon termination, your right to access the platform immediately ceases. All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 9, 10, and 14) shall continue to apply.
You may also voluntarily close your account at any time by emailing litclubau@gmail.com. Account deletion is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
